Selling Motorcycle on eBay Guide - After the Auction Ends
What, you thought you were done with this? You still have to take care for some things after the auction ends.
If your motorbike did not sell for your reserved price, you can send an offer to the last bidder through eBay if his or her bid for your motorcycle is close enough to your reserved price. If you didn't get any bids, consider relisting with lower initial bid and longer period, lower the reserve price if any, revise the description, add more photos if you don't have many, or contact us and we will analyze your listing and will give you advises for improvement.
If your motorcycle cells (yea!, ready to celebrate?), contact the buyer via eBay contact link, preferably within 12 - 24 hours of the auction end. In your message, thank the buyer for the purchase, kindly remind them about paying the deposit if any, ask them for their contact information (name, phone, email) and how they would like to arrange for pickup of the motorcycle (are they located locally, flying in, driving, want you to ship it, etc). You can discuss the details on the phone.
Prepare the sales contract for your motorcycle. It should contain your motorcycle year, brand, model, VIN, your name and address. It should also contain your buyer's information such as name, home address and driver's licence. It should state that you sold your motorcycle to the buyer. You should also include the date of sales and, optionally, link to your eBay listing and your and buyer's eBay ids. Make two copies of the contract. You and your buyer will sign both copies, one goes to your buyer and one stays with you.
If buyer is visiting you personally, give him or her directions to your place. If the buyer wants to go for a test drive, make sure you have his information such as name, address, driver's licence number. There should be no barganning about the price at this point, so collect the ballance of the total selling price. Invite your best friend over; it's always helpful to have a friend of yours with you when you're dealing with large amount of money with people you don't really know.
